In this video notice how the catch is cut off by the camera man panning away from the plate. Also, you can hear booing in the crowd. And, the announcer says that the got the ball "to the plate"- not over the plate.
Remarkably hard to find was the video that shows the arch of the pitch, and how the catcher (who's not the teams actual catcher...why?) is squatting over the plate and still had to reach to snag the ball.
